DC’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, distributed by Warner Bros., is a follow-up to 2013’s Man of Steel and the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. “B. v. S.” is helmed by Zack Snyder, with screenplay by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer. The cast includes Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, and Henry Cavill. This is the first live-action film to feature both Batman and Superman, as well as the first theatrical film to feature live-action portrayals of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” officially popped up on tracking reports today, four weeks before its March 25 debut. Industry estimates have the tussle between the Dark Knight and the Son of Jor-El opening worldwide between $300M-$340M on over 30K screens. Among global superhero debuts, that would rank “B. v. S.” fifth behind Avengers ($392.5M), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($392.5M), Spider-Man 3 ($381.7M) and Iron Man 3 ($372.5M).
