CIMMFest 2012 is upon us (April 12th-15th, Chicago, Illinois), and the 4th installment of the much revered annual Movie & Music Festival promises to be the best yet.
Each spring filmmakers, musicians, and amorous fans of the same descend upon Wicker Park and Logan Square, two of Chicago’s most eclectic neighborhoods, to attend the numerous CIMMFest events and performances. The festival was conceived and brought to life by musician Josh Chicoine (Cloudbirds, The M’s) and film editor Ilko Davidov (Bulletproof Film). Since its inception just a few years ago, the Windy City-based event has become a widely publicized and well respected audio-video gala.
The lineup film-wise for CIMMFest #4 includes Uprising: Hip Hop and the LA Riots, a Snoop Dogg-narrated documentary, as well as Ecstasy, a narrative film adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s best-selling literary work. The musical slate features the electronic duo ADULT, screening their horror film triptych The Three Graces, while performing live accompaniment (on Friday the 13th, no less), as well as members of the Sugar Hill Gang performing and showing off I Want My Name Back, their film regarding the unfair treatment they’ve received from record labels and management.
CIMMFest is only a few weeks away, so learn more about the events and performances right here, and be sure to join us at this years festival!
