“Django Unchained” is the much-anticipated spaghetti-esque western written and directed by Quentin Tarantino.  Its set to release theatrically in the U.S. and Canada December 25th.

The film stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Django (Foxx) is a slave living in the deep south who has been seperated from his wife.  Django is freed from his current owners at a slave auction by a bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), who employs Django to help hunt down a ruthless gang of killers that the slave has seen in the past and can help identify.  In return Schultz promises to free Django from slavery for good, and also help free his wife from her nefarious masters.

The title and visuals of the film seemingly were inspired by the 1960s spaghetti western “Django”. Keep an eye out for original “Django” star Franco Nero’s cameo in Tarantino’s “Unchained” version.
