Facebook shares were up this week after reported positive Q3 earnings, but then fell flat after Facebook execs admitted they are losing the handle on the teen market.
On a recent conference call with analysts, Facebook CFO David Ebersam admitted that teen usage, especially with younger teens, was tangibly down in recent months.
Earlier this month investment firm Piper Jaffray stated in its recent “Taking Stock With Teens” survey that “the popularity of Facebook is waning among teens, with 23% citing it as the most important [social media platform], down from 33% six months ago and 42% a year ago.”
These statistics contradict statements in July by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg that despite specualtion, teens were still digging Facebook. Filmmatic.com will of course be tweeting this news to its teen followers.
