Actor/director/writer Harold Ramis passed away on February 24th at age 69. Hollywood friends and family mourned. The shockwaves from his death have also found their way into the production offices of “Ghostbusters III”
The Sony sequel remains on track, but the project will need to be altered as Ramis was scheduled to make a cameo appearance along with fellow-original Ghostbusters Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
The sequel’s director, Ivan Reitman, is schedule to meet with studio honchos to discuss how to work around Ramis’ absence. The screenplay, written by “The Office” writers Eisenberg and Stupnitsky, will need to be altered, but studio reps have downplayed the revamp’s overall effect on the project.
