Chris Pratt’s latest big-screen appearance is poised to earn $1 billion at the global box office more quickly than any film prior.
“Jurassic World” should see the 10-figure mark in its rear-view mirror, tomorrow, June 22. The film has shattered expectations, as pundits had assumed that the picture would be overshadowed this summer by “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and Illumination’s “Minions”. The latest Jurassic chapter, an obvious domestic success, is also churning profits overseas, especially in China where it has grossed $150 million+ to date.
“World” has a chance of being the highest-grossing release of the year, potentially giving “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” a run for its instellar-money when it debuts this winter. “Jurassic World” was produced by Universal Pictures, Ambling Entertainment and Legendary Pictures.
