Knoxville, Tennessee based Scripps Networks International announced a slew of new programming this week at Mipcom 2012 in Cannes, France.

The super-prolific cable programmer, responsible for pumping the Food Network and The Travel Channel into our homes, has been very active as of late in acquiring new programming deals, especially in regards to its foreign markets.  Much of the recent activity was announced, appropriately, at an upscale “Fine Living” dinner for reporters on the Croisette on the eve of the market.

Travel Channel International is firming its lineup by acquiring five U.S. Travel Channel series, as well as by greenlighting its first Asian program,Destination Wedding“, featuring former Miss Malaysia Debbie Henry.   Britain’s growing lifestyle and entertainment channel, Food Network UK, will be bolstering its original slate by commissioning its fourth original production, “Jonathan Phang’s Caribbean Cookbook.”

Scripps executives stated this week in Canes that the new bevy of acquisitions and green-lights is a sign of the company’s dedication to providing “high-quality programming to worldwide audiences.”
