Reboot happy Hollywood is at it again, this time pushing towards a revival of National Lampoon’s classic “Vacation” series. (Note: The “Lampoon” tag will not be present on the new productions).

Rumors have flown around recently that Ed Helms might play a grown-up Rusty Griswold, who would of course take his family on a Clark-esque vacation.  Ed himself quashed those rumors early on, but now Variety reports that the “Hangover” actor is indeed in talks to star in the “Vacation” reboot.

“Horrible Bosses” writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will be directing from a self-scribed script.  Theoretically filming would take place after production wraps on the 3rd “Hangover” installment.

Throwback cameos can be cheesy, but we can’t picture any “Vacation” movie without a little Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo.  In any case, lets just hope this latest reboot doesn’t taint this classic comedy franchise.
