50,000+ filmmakers, fans and industry professionals will descend upon Park City Utah January 17-27 for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The 10 day event features a colorful array of film debuts, networking events (see filmmatic.com’s event page), musical performances and industry panels and presentations. The festival receives 10,000+ submissions each year from aspiring filmmakers and salty-old industry staples alike. Sundance has unveiled hundreds of critically acclaimed films since its inception in 1985.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host this year’s awards ceremony, with numerous buzz-worthy projects vying for accolades including James Ponsoldt’s “the Spectacular Now” and Dave Grohl’s “Sound City” doc. Ashton Kutcher’s “jOBS” will have its premier on the closing night of the fest.
